Dec 3. Christmas Traditions in Scandinavia
The star is everywhere in a Danish Christmas; in the windows, in the very top of the tree, in decorations of any kind, cookies are shaped as stars and so on. The plant “Christmas Flower” (among other names) is everywhere too. In Danish it’s name literally means “Christmas Star” and that’s why people buy these. Some years I do to but I can’t for the life of me keep it alive and I don’t know anyone who can, but maybe it makes sense – it’s a tropical plant and you can call Scandinavia a lot of things but tropical isn’t one of them. So I usually don’t buy one and settle for the one I made out of artificial flowers. That I can keep and I’m happy with it.
Have a great day..
