Carved pumpkin..

It’s almost time. Some decorate for haloween, some don’t. I’ve seen a single house so far decorated with a spider on the wall. A few have carved a simple face out of a pumpkin and put a light in there. It looks great. I don’t decorate – no one will see it and the weather’s just going to ruin it. My plan was to pickle the pumpkin to the left, carve the pumpkin on the right, take a few pictures and then pickle it. The pumpkin – not the picture ๐Ÿ˜‰. I ended up with this:

I’ve only tried to carve a pumpkin once before so experience is not something I have when it comes to this and I’ve never tried to not cut all the way through. I watched a tutorial – it seemed very easy – and went for it. It wasn’t that easy and very time consuming but it was fun. I messed up and trying to save it I messed up even more. It doesn’t matter, I’ve seen better but I’ve also seen worse. For a first try it came out ok and I’ve learned something. The light inside is electrical since I wanted to use the pumkin for food afterwards – seemed like a safe choice. I didn’t want to put it outside. First of all I can’t see and enjoy it and second it’ll attract rats and that’s something we’re are careful not to do. So.. Some hours after these pictures were taken, the pumpkin was peeled and chopped up, put in a bucket with water, salt and vinegar preparing for pickling the next day. I’m looking forward to having pickled pumpkin. This was a nice experience ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have a great day..
